Stage 1 Machine Polish

What it is:
Stage 1 machine polishing is a single-stage paint correction process designed to enhance gloss and remove light defects from a vehicle’s paintwork. It’s ideal for vehicles that are generally well-kept but have minor imperfections such as swirl marks, light scratches, or oxidation.

🔧 Purpose

• Restores gloss and clarity to the paint.
• Removes light swirl marks, haze, and minor scratches.
• Prepares the surface for protection (wax, sealant, or ceramic coating).

⚙️ Process Overview

1. Wash & Decontamination
• Full pre-wash, snow foam, and hand wash.
• Chemical decontamination (tar & iron removal).
• Mechanical decontamination (clay bar).
2. Paint Inspection
• Paint depth readings to ensure safety.
• Identification of problem areas (swirls, scratches, etc.).
3. Machine Polishing (Single Stage)
• Use of one polish and pad combination.
• Light cutting or refining polish depending on paint condition.
• Removes around 50–70% of visible defects (depending on paint hardness).
4. Wipe Down & Inspection
• IPA or panel wipe to remove polish residues.
• Check finish under proper lighting.
5. Protection
• Application of wax, sealant, or ceramic coating for protection and gloss retention.

💡 Key Benefits

• Dramatically enhances gloss and depth.
• Improves overall appearance with minimal paint removal.
• Cost-effective compared to multi-stage correction.
• Suitable for daily drivers or vehicles that don’t need full correction.

⚠️ Limitations

• Does not fully remove deep scratches or heavy swirl marks.
• Only one stage of polishing – limited correction potential.
• Results depend on paint type and condition.
